What inspired you to self build?
I've always had the ambition to build my own home.
What do you see as the main benefits of self build?
You get what you want. It's cheaper and you get to choose where you want to be. It's a big achievement to complete and it's your own design.
Would you build again and, if so, what would you do differently?
I would build again.
What have been the advantages of using Simmons for your self build project?
It's nice to be on a one-to-one basis. Somebody you can ring for help and advice.
What would you give as top tips for other prospective self builders?
Take time to buy a nice plot. Think about the kind of home you want. Make sure the room sizes are OK. You need to be very organised. Get to know your tradesmen.
